Alumni – Transforming Lives, Transforming Nations
At Genesis Joy Schools, we believe that education is the great equalizer — a powerful tool that empowers children to rise beyond poverty, unlock their potential, and shape a brighter future. For over two decades, our alumni have been living proof of this truth.
From the narrow streets of Mathare to universities abroad, from classrooms to international sports arenas, our graduates are thriving in diverse fields. Their journeys remind us that when children are given the right support and opportunities, they can break barriers and achieve greatness.
Education as an Enabler
In a world where opportunity is often dictated by background, education levels the playing field. It enables children from marginalized communities to compete, contribute, and lead alongside their peers globally.
For many of our learners, access to education at Genesis Joy Schools has been the doorway to hope — opening pathways to scholarships, higher education, professional success, and global recognition.
Alumni Success Stories
🌍 Ruth Kerubo – Breaking Barriers Through Education
Ruth’s story is a testimony to the power of opportunity. Raised in Mathare, she pursued her education at Genesis Joy with determination and excellence. Her hard work paid off when she received the prestigious Equity Wings to Fly scholarship, which enabled her to further her studies.
She went on to graduate from a university in Mauritius and is currently pursuing greater opportunities in the United States. Ruth’s journey — from a child in the slums to an international professional — would not have been possible without access to education and the support of life-changing opportunities. Today, she stands as a role model to countless young girls who dare to dream.
🏉 Samuel Mosiori Asati – From the Classrooms to the Global Rugby Stage
Samuel joined Genesis Joy Schools in Class One and studied with us all the way to Class Eight. Even as a child, his discipline and talent shone brightly. In Class Seven, Samuel represented Kenya in the Rugby Under-12 tournaments in England and South Africa — a remarkable achievement at such a young age.
Today, Samuel is a proud member of the Kenya National Rugby Sevens team (Shujaa). He was part of the squad that stunned the world by beating South Africa to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024. His story is not just about sporting excellence — it is about resilience, discipline, and the transformative role of education in nurturing talent and character.
